Purpose of this website

map0.net presents map0, an open-source web map client. The site hosts its documentation, live demos and release information.

Copyright and licensing

map0 is open source and released under the MIT license; the source code is available on GitHub. The content of this website, such as texts, graphics and example configurations, is protected by copyright unless the license of the repository it is taken from says otherwise.

The demo maps display data from third-party geodata services: basemap.at, City of Vienna Open Government Data, MapLibre demo tiles, and the geodata portal of the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya together with sample rasters published by Geomatico. That data remains subject to the terms and attribution requirements of its respective publishers, which the maps display.

Two Austrian open-government datasets are redistributed for the COG demos, both licensed CC BY 4.0: the Versiegelung 2022 raster from the ÖROK-Monitoring (calculated by Umweltbundesamt GmbH on behalf of the Austrian Spatial Planning Conference), and an excerpt of the 25 m terrain model of Bundesamt für Eich- und Vermessungswesen. Both were reprojected to EPSG:3857 and converted to Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF for the demos; the sealed-surfaces raster is otherwise unmodified, the terrain model is cut to the Großglockner region and resampled. Neither publisher endorses map0 or this website.
