Privacy policy
map0.net is a static website. It sets no cookies, has no accounts and no forms, and its analytics are cookieless and anonymous. This page explains where personal data still comes into play, and why.

What this site does not do
- No cookies, and nothing stored in your browser.
- No accounts, logins, forms or newsletters.
- No advertising and no cross-site tracking.
- No profiles of individual visitors. Analytics are aggregated and anonymous.
Hosting and server logs
The site is served as static files by Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps (Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd.). To deliver a page, the web server necessarily processes the technical data of each request, such as the IP address, the requested URL, the time and the browser identification, and may retain it briefly in server logs for security and operations. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating the site reliably and securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Microsoft processes this data on our behalf under its data protection addendum.
Web analytics
We use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, self-hosted on Spatial Focus infrastructure, so no analytics data leaves our own systems. Umami sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses and does not track individual visitors. It only produces aggregated, anonymous statistics such as page views and referrers. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Analytics run only on the deployed site, never in local development builds.
Map data from third-party services
The live demos are real maps. When one loads, your browser fetches basemaps and geodata directly from the servers of third parties, and those requests carry your IP address and browser identification, like any web request. The services in use:
- basemap.at and City of Vienna geodata (mapsneu.wien.gv.at, data.wien.gv.at, wien.gv.at), operated by the City of Vienna and the Austrian basemap.at cooperation.
- MapLibre demo tiles (demotiles.maplibre.org), operated by the MapLibre project and used by the globe demo.
These operators act as independent controllers of the requests they receive; their own privacy policies apply. The maps are the purpose of this site, so they load with the page. If you prefer not to contact these services, do not open the demo pages.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection regarding your personal data (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). This site stores nothing about identifiable visitors, so there will usually be nothing to retrieve. For any questions, you can reach us via www.spatial-focus.net/contact. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde).
